Just hoping it runs well on the shakedown.... I need to learn its habits (good and bad) before I decide to hammer it...

It finally seems worth all the time and effort. Hope this inspires others to keep at it!

Found this about 5 years ago under a tarp in a guy's driveway and figured I could have it on the road in no time....
Got all the body parts back from the painter just before Christmas and now need...
Thanks
The car is currently apart for paint. The local paint shop is working individual panels in between insurance jobs (their bread and butter). Should be all one color and screwed back together...
That may be the car I looked at on Marco Island a couple of years ago. At that time it needed a lot of TLC, and it had been in storage. It appeared to have originally been a very nice build. Over...
Thanks
It has been 2+ years to get it to the point where everything works again and now preparing it for paint. Hope to have it finished and on the road this year.

Nice looking tank. It is the same volume and has similar dimensions to the original Manta Mirage tank. Need to figure out how you will mount it. My tanks are steel and have tabs that bolt them...
Found the info on the gas springs

Can't tell if front of yours is VW. Easy to see if the VW torsion bars are there along with a conventional steering box. Some cars had rack and pinion steering with VW suspension (with steering...
Welcome to the site. Many of us started with little more than you have now. The dream you had started by your ride is what drives you (and the rest of us as well). Most of us saw the cars back in...

Looking Great! Getting to drive it and see people's reaction to it helps make the labor worth it!
Congratulations!
Dan
Terry it looks great! I know the feeling that you described...I have been at this so long that I have lost perspective on how close to being finished I am...My wife and friends are telling me how...
Finished installing the wipers in the Mirage. Original manual suggests Midget/Sprite wiper system. I think that is what I have. Motor drives a cable inside a tube. Cable has a spiral on it that...
Looking Great !
Welcome tell us about yourself and about your Manta if you have one...
Dan
You are still way ahead of me in painting skills...Looks great from the photos!
Looking good Terry. Your color looks to be a good match to the original McLaren Orange.

Thanks for sharing!
I could have watched more!
Car sound great, accelerates cleanly with no flat spots that I could hear. As you got more comfortable with the car and track, I could...
Took a quick run down to the park and back (OK twice) to see how it runs after all this time. Still work to do, but I had fun. Wish it weren't 94 degrees and high humidity though.

I struggled with the same thing. I used Hella 90mm lamps. I bought their mounting plates, electrical connectors and mounting/adjusting screws. The supplier I used is Susquehanna Motorsports...
