For me only, the Montage would be worth more, but only because I could do to it, what I did with my Mirage, but for a lot less effort and money. Ultimately, is only worth what someone else is willing...

For me only, the Montage would be worth more, but only because I could do to it, what I did with my Mirage, but for a lot less effort and money. Ultimately, is only worth what someone else is willing...
The Boxster S it a lot more affordable than a 930, or more so, the ZF, but it still presents issues with engine height, etc. The front end change to, for example, a Mustang II/Pinto front end would...
This is a case of the blind leading the blind. I went with what my eye saw, and that may be different than what someone else's eye sees. I tried to consider photos of original McLarens, taking into...
Great work on the door. This is almost exactly what I originally intended for my car...until I started adding up a pound here, a few ounces there, and all of a sudden I had a couple of hundred pounds...
With a different rack, that may be hard to compare. My Porsche rack was about 1.5 turns lock to lock, which was great with no need of for hand-over-hand steering, and very responsive on the track,...
The only reason I mentioned it was there was because of a recent and lengthy string about this on the GT40s website, and though it would seem that this is much less critical for a steering shaft,...
Yeah, much better configuration there on the tail lights. Looks like it was intended to be this way. I don't know that the circular ones would have looked right, but think you're more on the mark...
Might be trying to avoid crossing paths with the McLaren Trust.
Looks like you're taking care of all those annoying issues with the bodywork for these cars. Unfortunately, there is a lot of them.
Yep. I found the Bear Claw latches work very well, and yes, if...
Welcome Dale. Photos are appreciated by all as we watch other's builds.
I agree. I added a .125" aluminum sheet under everything forward of the engine. I have another piece for under the engine, but with all the heat in the back, and wanting to gain full visuals of the...
Dave: That rear suspension is unique. Can't tell much from the photo, but appears to have had some amount of thought put behind it. Are the angles and lengths all good (hard to tell with a...
Yeah, I found the 930 to be a pretty much optimal gearing for a high-torque motor, if you can get around the older generation synchros. Please post some rear suspension photos when you have time.
Glad to see another project kicked off. It was kinda quite for a while there. So...what's your goal? What do you want to do with car (street, show, track, one, or all?), and what do you want to do...
Conflicted on where this topic goes (Electronics didn't seem appropriate either), but thought I'd throw this out to anyone searching for help on this issue I had.
I've been using a 10 amp fuse for...
Opinion: space is going to be the biggest issue though. My observations have been that the Vintage units are built for....vintage cars, and/or projects that actually have a usable amount of space...
Congratulations on the purchase. Mechanical photos may help identify the front brakes. Looking forward to seeing everything put "right".
Terry
I believe I still do. Will need to check.
With the demise of this business venture, what is to be done with the molds for these parts?
Original posting on Ebay:...
Thanks for the update. If I had to do "it" over again, I'd do the Montage thing...but I'm not doing it over again. Anyway, potential buyers, considering the price, would probably want a description...
Yes, but you will be limited to (I believe) 6 per post, BUT, that was a series of URL links (from a photo hosting site). If you are attaching images from your computer, than I cannot speak to that.
What about the Montage (especially with all the work being put into this project) prevents a modified frame that uses side tanks similar to what was used on the Mirage?
I think you'll be happier with this carb anyway, even if the Holley worked properly. I found my Proform performed better than the same "size" Holley.
Glad to see work being done on this again. Keep up the momentum (and photos of the progress)!
