Dakota Digital Dash

I have the Dakota Digital Dash in my car. The RPM gauge when I start the car works and as soon as the engine heats up it goes out. I'm not sure what could be causing this. I've checked the connection on the gauge and the engine and everything looks tight.

As long as the engine keeps running without issues, certainly seems like this might be a gauge problem itself.... Do you have conventional breaker-point distributor, or something more recent (or aftermarket)?

It is the breaker - point distributor. I was thinking of just running a line direct from the gauge back to test and see if it is an issue with the wire or the gauge itself. I guess it connects into the distributor somewhere.
